Fabian Anke trained as a geotechnician with the Department of Water Affairs, South Africa in the various fields of geo-hydrology, geology and geophysics. He qualified as geotechnician in 1991 and appointed Senior Geotechnician with the Department in 1993. In 1996 he obtained a BSc degree majoring in Geology and Geography and was appointed First Geo-technician
 

Anke’s experience and responsibilities included investigations, research projects, verification exercises, project planning, geophysical surveys, drilling and testing supervision and coordination, borehole testing, data analysis, well-field development, resource evaluation and reporting
 

Fabian Anke has become a leading proponent in remote sensing techniques and in 1998 he established Ageotech cc, a company with its main focus being geophysical and hydro-geological surveys utilising satellite imaging and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
